'Cubixx HD' Episode 3 - Enemies: Part 2

Hey hey!

What’s up everybody? It’s Friday again, and you know what that means? More Cubixx HD news! Yay!

This week I will give a run down of the remaining enemies and of course include some more super sexy screenshots.

What better place to start with than an old favourite? The FUSE! Yes, the Fuse is back and this time it’s deadlier than ever; the speed of the Fuse varies, so it can be really slow or super fast. This means you’ll have to be careful when drawing long lines on some of the later levels, or the Fuse will soon catch up with you and stop you dead in your tracks.

You can't catch me!

Next up is a brand new enemy, the ASTEROID! This is my favourite new addition to the game. Not only do they look awesome but they add great depth to the gameplay. These asteroids fall from outside the cube and collide with it. Anything in an asteroid’s path will be destroyed, well only the player, but you get the idea.  The asteroid is first visible to the user via a target, which lets you know where and when you can expect the asteroid to hit, so you’d better move quickly and get out of the way!

It's raining asteroids!

Finally we have another new enemy, the Black Hole.  This new enemy is my nemesis and always ends up costing me loads of lives. Black Holes can spawn above any face and last for a few seconds. While they exist their gravitational pull will affect players’ movements. For example, moving away from a Black Hole will really slow you down. On the other hand you can use its power to your advantage, because travelling towards a Black Hole speeds you up! However, if you’re on the opposite face to a Black Hole you’ll be immune to its effects. I tend to stay out of their way; Black Holes are too scary for me!

My nemesis!!!

That’s it for now, so stay safe and keep checking in to the blog for more updates.

Steven.
