Hi everyone,
By even greater popular demand I’ve finally managed to get the time to complete a Level 2 playthrough of Ace Armstrong vs. the Alien Scumbags! on Rookie difficulty.
Check out the video goodness below:
I hope this inspires those of you who may already be on Ace to keep at it, and those of you who’ve yet to take the plunge to get involved and attempt to give the game a good kicking – once the game goes live in Europe I want to see those high scores, people! :)
No doubt there’ll be more news from LJ Towers next week. Peace. ;)

Hi everyone,
Things are ticking along nicely at Laughing Jackal this week - we’re currently working on a couple of new minis projects and have any number of potential irons to go in the fire once those are out of the way. We’ve had tons of ideas for new games recently, so it’s exciting to see which of these will make it off the drawing board. :-)
As well as looking forward, this week I’m thinking back to our first minis title, Cubixx. This seems like good timing, what with the first birthday of minis fast approaching. For those who need reminding (or have no idea what I’m talking about), a trailer of the game can be seen below:
With posterity in the air and almost a year after the game’s original release on the SCEE Store, now seems like a great time to announce another of our ongoing projects. Drum roll please...
OK? We’re working on a PS3-exclusive sequel called Cubixx HD for release on the PSN Store. Cool, huh? :D
Taking all the best elements of its minis baby brother, Cubixx HD allows us to do all the things we wanted to do in the original but either didn’t have time for, didn’t think of, or weren’t allowed to do due to platform limitations or deadlines. We’ll give more details away over the coming weeks, but here are just a few of Cubixx HD’s new features:
- Lovely, crisp and shiny HD graphics (with more variety).
- More enemy types (and more of them!).
- Power Ups.
- Full Trophy support.
- A jam-packed ‘Challenge’ mode.
- Online leaderboards (including Facebook integration).
- Local multiplayer modes for up to 7 (!) players.
- Other equally epic stuff TBA.
Surely that’s it, right? No way could I announce anything else?! Well you’re wrong, because I can, and I am! :-)
To keep the party spirit that goes along with this announcement alive, we have 10 Cubixx free download vouchers to give away on our Facebook page, and 10 more to give away via our Twitter page. Both sets of codes will be good for either SCEA or SCEE account holders. W00t! :-)
Here’s how you can win:

Once again, the competition will run until 3:30pm GMT on Friday afternoon (that’s 1st October) and the results will be announced the same afternoon so you can play this awesome game before the weekend. If you want to enter the competition on both sites, feel free.
