ACCESS PlayStation - London 04/02/11

So after our news of you lucky folks being able to get a sneak preview of Duæl Invaders at ACCESS PlayStation in London you may have been somewhat diappointed, as we were, that DI was not on show :(

However Al found solace in a beer and a new friend.

Well Al and I did have a good time playing what else they had on offer. All I can say is playing GT5 in a purpose built pod, a must have for the spare room. Al, who can't play golf whooped me at Tiger Woods on the Move as he ably demo's here

In PSP corner it was a hive of activity. Well almost...

And due to his youthful looks Al was not allowed in to see the all new Killzone 3

Word has it that DI will be available to look at along with some other minis in Glasgow :)

Bye for now.

D.

No news is good news. Oh, and there's a SCEE event featuring 'Duael Invaders' tonight!

Hi everyone,

Well it's a quiet week news-wise for Laughing Jackal this week - not because there's nothing on, but more due to the fact I can't tell you anything about various recent developments - not yet anyway. :D

First up, I'm off to London tonight to attend the invite-only 'ACCESS PlayStation' event showing off new and upcoming games from SCEE's UK office. Sony very kindly requested the presence of Duæl Invaders at the event, so I thought I'd go along and see what people think.

<dreamsequence> I can see it now: the Uncharted 3 demo pods standing deserted as people huddle around the PSPs for some Duæl Invaders action! Well, I can dream... ;) </dreamsequence>

In other news, Cubixx HD is looking ever-more interesting and we're in the process of finalising the game content, which boils down to internal discussion as well as a conversation between us and SCEE/SCEA to ensure everyone's happy with the content on offer. Until that's sorted out it obviously doesn't make sense to disclose features to you guys. Rest assured, the game involves lots of cubes, is looking very cool and should be a huge treat for existing Cubixx fans as well as all the fast-action puzzle fans out there.

Elsewhere we are continuing work on our other forthcoming PSN minis titles, including a mystery as-yet-unannounced title that's a bit of a genre departure for us. You DO shoot things, but not in the conventional sense. All I can reveal beyond that is that it's themed around zombies. Hopefully that whets a few appetites! I am a HUGE zombie fan so its great to finally tackle a subject I'm 'dead' keen on (ouch!), even if we're a little late to the party. I'm confident our spin on the theme is different enough to warrant your interest - even more so on minis, so you'll have to wait and see. :)

This week I've also been putting together ideas for our next 'full' PS3-for-PSN game, for once Cubixx HD is out of the door. I have lots of ideas on this - there are a couple of genres that aren't represented on PSN at present, which I'm keen to address, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. On that note, if anyone out there wishes to see a particular genre/sub-genre appearing as a PS3 download game, please add your comments below and we'll bear them in mind.

More news next week folks. Until then have a great weekend.

Cheers,

Al

'Duael Invaders' - PSN minis - Still in submission. Plus GAMEPLAY VIDEO!

Hi guys,

Just a quick one to let you know that Duæl Invaders is still going great guns, but we've got no update regarding release date or pricing as yet - sorry! :(

The submission has gone pretty well but we need to address a couple of localisation issues - the game itself is looking pretty robust though, which is good news for us. :)

What we do have for you is some actual, genuine real-life in-game footage grabbed from the game while it's running on a PS3. Feast your eyes on this:

Pretty cool, huh? More news on this and other forthcoming LJ products next week. See you then.

Cheers,

Al
