No news is good news. Oh, and there's a SCEE event featuring 'Duael Invaders' tonight!

Well it's a quiet week news-wise for Laughing Jackal this week - not because there's nothing on, but more due to the fact I can't tell you anything about various recent developments - not yet anyway. :D
First up, I'm off to London tonight to attend the invite-only 'ACCESS PlayStation' event showing off new and upcoming games from SCEE's UK office. Sony very kindly requested the presence of Duæl Invaders at the event, so I thought I'd go along and see what people think.
<dreamsequence> I can see it now: the Uncharted 3 demo pods standing deserted as people huddle around the PSPs for some Duæl Invaders action! Well, I can dream... ;) </dreamsequence>
In other news, Cubixx HD is looking ever-more interesting and we're in the process of finalising the game content, which boils down to internal discussion as well as a conversation between us and SCEE/SCEA to ensure everyone's happy with the content on offer. Until that's sorted out it obviously doesn't make sense to disclose features to you guys. Rest assured, the game involves lots of cubes, is looking very cool and should be a huge treat for existing Cubixx fans as well as all the fast-action puzzle fans out there.
Elsewhere we are continuing work on our other forthcoming PSN minis titles, including a mystery as-yet-unannounced title that's a bit of a genre departure for us. You DO shoot things, but not in the conventional sense. All I can reveal beyond that is that it's themed around zombies. Hopefully that whets a few appetites! I am a HUGE zombie fan so its great to finally tackle a subject I'm 'dead' keen on (ouch!), even if we're a little late to the party. I'm confident our spin on the theme is different enough to warrant your interest - even more so on minis, so you'll have to wait and see. :)
This week I've also been putting together ideas for our next 'full' PS3-for-PSN game, for once Cubixx HD is out of the door. I have lots of ideas on this - there are a couple of genres that aren't represented on PSN at present, which I'm keen to address, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. On that note, if anyone out there wishes to see a particular genre/sub-genre appearing as a PS3 download game, please add your comments below and we'll bear them in mind.

Hey dudes, Thats awesome! have a look at Mad Blocker Alpha while ye're there. We were supposed to be heading to the event ourselves but the price of flights was ridiculous, will probably head to the other one later in the month! Have to catch up for a chat at some point. Oh how I envy you, game developers, it's cool enough that you get to see your own games in action before anyone else, but you also get to go to events where you can be the first to see other people's! ...Anyway, before I stomp off in a jealous rage, might as well reply to the rest of this post. It's actually been a while since I've heard any acknowledgment on Fighting Fantasy, is it's development going well? Next ps3 game... I hope your list of potential games includes a 'Vibes HD', especially when you'd presumably be able to use DLC with your psn exclusive... although a new idea (ie not a new version of a game you've already made) couldn't hurt either. I'd also like to add that I would like to see more games featuring Ace Armstrong, if you just gave him some dialog, or something to give him some personality beyond his art design (which is just begging for awesome one liners, ect.), you still need to make that on-foot side-scroller! ;) Other minis title: 'zombies' + 'you shoot things, but not in the conventional sense' = you control plants and they shoot the zombies!.... no, its already been done .... hmmmm..... 'zombies vs farts'? no.. thats already been done too! You shoot zombies with the power of love? .... no, that wouldent be a good idea.. if they decide to fight fire with fire, it could get awkward..... I've got it! you shoot guns with zombies (zombie catapult, zombie cat slingshot, that'll stop those nasty guns)! that would be unconventional! no, the odds of someone making a game that amazing, this early on in history would suggest that it's something else.... I'll guess it sometime, and when I do, you better realize that whether or not you've already announced it, is irrelevant.

Hi Carson, Thanks for the um... stream of consciousness. You are right it has been a while since you have posted. And one or two ideas :) were just ready to burst out.We are doing what we can with some new ideas but very early stages for the next projects. FF is definitely in development and there will be something soon. As for Cubixx HD I am bullying the guys into getting some first look stuff ready. They are being very precious about it. I will work my magic. Check this space in a few days.
